South Indian Women Writers’ Meet in Kerala

The Department of literature of Thunchathezhuthachan Malayalam University in Tirur in Kerala will  organise ‘Sargasangamam’, a three-day convention of women writers of South India from January 20. Noted Chennai-based poet and novelist Meena Kandasamy will inaugurate the convention at 4 p.m. on January 20. University Vice Chancellor K. Jayakumar will preside over the inaugural function in which writer P. Valsala will deliver the key note address.

Teachers, research scholars, cultural activists, writers and students of literature from various universities and colleges are expected to participate in the convention with the theme ‘Prathispandavum Prathirodhavum’. Women writers of Malayalam, Tamil and Kannada languages will take part. Writers Sara Joseph, Chandramathi, P. Geetha, Khadeeja Mumtaz, O.V. Usha, Rose Mary, Bindu Krishnan and Salma will take part in the first three sessions starting at 9.30 a.m. on January 21.
