Suitable read for – Indians…

Lal Bhatia’s autobiographical book and also his very first attempt at writing, Indicting Goliath, is a piece that will certainly compel the readers to think differently about a very standard notion that has been set by the world so far – about the functioning of Law and Enforcement and Justice in the USA.

What is the book about?
The book is about gross human rights violation, unfair persecution and inhuman treatment of an Indian citizen in the USA by the Department of Justice, FBI and also backstabbing by fellow companions, colleagues that Lal Bhatia, the author, had to go through. Indicting Goliath is the most suitable title that anyone would have thought of the book… David is in the form of Mr Bhatia and Goliath is in the form of the entire collision that was there to frame, punish and maybe finish Lal Bhatia – the corrupt machinery within the FBI and the Department of Justice and even some of the Federal Judges were involved in the racket that was especially set-up to suppress the facts that Lal Bhatia was trying to bring into the public domain – a multi-million or billion dollar money-laundering scam being carried by BCCI – Bank of Commerce and Credit International.

What does it tell?
Indicting Goliath tells the world that how a state can use all its machinery to suppress an individual who is going to expose something very bigger – in this case, the United States of America is the state and the man who fought a handicapped match, one versus many is Lal Bhatia. He had to undergo ordeals and panic just because he decided to go against a bank which was protected (seemingly) by some of the corrupts in the US politics, FBI and Department of Justice. For more than a decade, the author had to spend his life in prison away from his family and friends and also in the shadow of hovering injustice, unfair prosecution and trouble.

Should I read it?
Well, Indicting Goliath is a book which can be read by anybody and everybody! If you are a responsible citizen of a nation, you should read this book to know the possible dangers that might be triggered on your back if you go rogue against the dirty secrets that a state wants to keep from its citizens – and in this book, Uncle Sam has too many of them! If you are interested in knowing how did Lal Bhatia heroically survived his possible elimination, you MUST read this book to be proud of a fellow Indian and to know the insides of a much-aspired nation – America.

And technically speaking:
Though the book is a non-fiction and it tells the story of a person who is writing it, the book has many things which might make an ordinary reader happy. It has the history; it has facts; it has the investigation; it has interviews (rather interrogations); it has thrill; it has espionage and it, in short, is a complete package which a reader wants for any good weekend he or she wants to spend after a rough week.

So, let’s come together and know the story of Lal Bhatia. Do read his debut book Indicting Goliath and contribute in this fight against Goliath and let’s cheer for David because… the BATTLE IS STILL ON!
