The 36th edition of Sharjah International Book Fair starts on 1st November

The 36th edition of Sharjah International Book Fair (SIBF 2017) hailed as the third biggest book fair across the world is set to start on 1st November at Sharjah Expo Centre. SIBF will be inaugurated by His Highness Sheikh Dr. Sultan bin Mohammad Al Qassimi, Member of UAE Supreme council and Ruler of Sharjah.

The literary extravaganza includes 1,600 live shows, along with a variety of activities like entertainment acts, acrobatic shows, cultural events, and a series of workshops in art, literature and writing and interactive experiences for children and young adults. The fair which starts from November 1 will end on 11.

It will also host 1,650 publishing houses from 60 countries, and display more than 1.5 million titles throughout the 11-day fair.
The United Kingdom is the designated Guest of Honour for the Sharjah International Book Fair (SIBF) 2017.

Like former years DC Books plays a significant role in bringing up Malayalam Language to the forefront in the fair. DC Books brings the prominent publishers from India under one roof and it has 40 stalls in the book fair.

Vikas Swaroop, Asha Parekh, Khalid Muhammad, Rajdeep Sardesai, Sagarika Ghose, Derek O’Brian, Jairam Ramesh, M T Vasudevan Nair, Film Actor Madhavan, Rakesh Om Prakash Mehra, Manu Joseph, Peter Lerenghis, Ashok Soota, Thayari Johns, Cricketer Wasim Akram, Devdutt Patnaik, Preeti Shenoy, Sara Joseph, M A Baby, George Onakkoor, Hemamalini, InnocentAashiq AbuRima KallingalBhagyalakshmi, Poets like Alankode LeelakrishnanAnil Panachooran, Tamilnadu opposition leader M K Stalin, Music Composer M Jayachandran will take part in the book fair on various days.
