‘POET’S QUEST FOR WORDS IS PERPETUAL’

Bhubaneswar | Monday, 20 August 2018 : Odia poet Dr Himansu Pattanaik’s  3rd edition of poetry book entitled “Abujha Apeksha” was released  here on August 12 by noted poet  Padmabibhusan  Dr Sitakanta Mohapatra.

Well-known litterateur, eminent critic and former secretary of Odisha Sahitya Akademi Prof Rajkishore Mishra presided.

Releasing the book, Mohapatra said that the poet is always engaged in a perpetual quest for words, which often slip, slide, perish and decay with imprecision.

After hours and days of anguishing oscillation of waiting, words come to the poet. He appreciated the creative efforts of poet Pattnaik in the book.

Prof Prasanna Karabar and Prof Banshidhar Sarangi discussed at length on contemporary Odia literature and especially on Odia poetry. Prof Dr Babaji Charan Pattnaik paid glowing tributes to his former teacher and eminent poet Himanshu Pattanaik reciting some of his poems from the present volume and from his earlier publications.

The audience were emotionally charged, when Dr Pattanaik recited poems from anthology “Bai Chadhei  ra Ghara.”

Prominent among others present were Prof Dr Prabhat Mohapatra, Dr Rohinikanta Mukherjee, Principal BJB College and eminent Poet Dr Prasanna Kumar Mohanty, Surya Mishra, Bipin Mohanty, Prof Padmanava Mohanty, Arabinda Mitra and noted poet Raksyaka Nayak.
