A Melting Pot of Seven Regional Languages
The Festival opens on February 14, 2015
The inaugural edition of the Gateway Literary Festival is conceived as a meeting place of writers and readers from seven regional languages – Marathi, Gujarati, Bengali, Tamil, Oriya, Kannada and Malayalam – apart from mainstream Hindi and English.
The festival’s major theme include a discussion on Maximum City Mumbai, from the writers’ perspective, the impact of translations on regional language, the emerging trends in travelogue writing, script and politics, literature in bankers’ perspective, blog poetry, various sessions and panel discussions on poetry and book reading, as well as book exhibitions. The books of debut writers and young writer will also be launched in the festival.
Gateway Literary Festival will be an annual affair henceforth where poets, prose writers, film personalities, script writers, and media people from India and across the world will meet up for the literary deliberations.
