Here’s a brand new offering from India – the Queenlines Lit Festival, Mumbai. Not an ordinary literature festival, this is India’s first sailing lit festival. Perhaps, winning the crown for being one of the most novel lit festivals in India, Queensline Lit Festival, Mumbai, is here to make you fall in love with books.

The recently concluded festival is being called India’s first lit fest on sea, and by the looks of it, the theme really works well. Located off the coast of Mumbai, the festival saw the likes of Manisha Koirala in attendance. Also, it was inaugurated by former First Lady of the UK and President of the Loomba Foundation, Cherie Blair. Also present was iconic photographer Raghu Rai, and Bollywood actors Sanjay Khan and Jaya Prada.

The festival was held from Jan 29 to Jan 31, 2019.

The first day of the festival witnessed an important panel discussion with Cherie Blaire, and actor Nandita Das present, the topic was ‘India’s Forgotten Women – Widows’. On the second day, Raghu Rai talked on the topic, ‘Finding Faith in the 21st Century Rubble’. The third day was a conversation between cancer survivor and journalist Uma Nair.

The Queensline sails from the Gateway of India and is a luxury sailing diner that is unmatched in terms of charm. With sea breeze ruffling your hair, the idea of being surrounded by books and discussions does not sound bad.
