ILFK begins on January 28

The Kerala Sahitya Akademi’s Internationala Literature Festival of Kerala (ILFK) will be held from January 28 to February 3. The Sahitya Festival will be staged at four venues in Sahitya Akademi Anganam and Town Hall. The venues are named as Prakriti, Mozhi, Porul, and Borwa. This is the first literature festival organized by public institutions in Kerala. A National Book Fair has also been organized at the Town Hall.

More than 500 writers and thinkers will participate in more than 100 sessions spread over a week.

Chief Minister Pinarayi Vijayan will inaugurate the festival online at 4 pm on Sunday. Sarah Joseph will hoist the flag. Ministers Saji Cherian, K Rajan, K Radhakrishnan and Dr. R. Bindu will also attend the inaugural function. Followed by a lecture and concert by TM Krishna. In the following days, discussions, lectures and seminars will be held in parallel at all four venues on subjects like literature, music, cinema, drama, painting, social issues and media.

Apart from Gabriel Rosenstock from Palestine, Alexandra Buehler from Poland, Adrian Fisher from England, Latin American writer Juana Adhoc, Amir Orr from Israel, Perumal Murugan, Bhava Chelladure, Ashok Vajpayee and Anita Nair will also participate.

There will also be art programs like Kathakali, Rafi Sangeet Nisha, Drama, Music and Dance by Kalamandalam in the evening on six days. A workshop on film script writing will also be organised. It will end on February 3, said Akademi President K Satchidanandan and Secretary CP Abubakar.
