Dhs4.5 million allotted for Sharjah’s libraries

His Highness Dr Sheikh Sultan Bin Mohammed Al Qasimi, Supreme Council Member and Ruler of Sharjah, ordered to allocate Dhs4.5 million for the purchase of new titles from publishing houses participating in the 36th edition of the Sharjah International Book Fair, SIBF.

The donation is in line with Sheikh Sultan’s ongoing commitment to enrich public facilities with new resources. The books will be distributed to libraries across Sharjah.

The Sharjah Ruler’s initiative ensures that the emirate’s public libraries will be updated with new titles to serve researchers, intellectuals, experts, school pupils, university students, and all those who are interested in literature and culture. It also supports publishers and book industry stakeholders, enabling them to develop this vital sector further.

His Highness Dr Sheikh Sultan Bin Mohammed Al Qasimi, Supreme Council Member and Ruler of Sharjah had set an apt example in front of the world for promoting literature and reading among his population.
