Special concessions for institutions purchasing books in bulk
PUDUCHERRY : The 22nd edition of the Book Fair, organised by the Puducherry Writers Book Society, will be held at Vel Sokkanathan Marriage Hall, Vallalar Salai, from December 21 to 30.
According to V. Muthu, president of the society, over one lakh books in Tamil, English, French, Hindi and many other languages would be on offer.
More than 100 book publishers, distributors and sellers from across the country especially from Malaysia, Singapore, Sri Lanka and Mauritius will participate in the fair.
Readers who make purchases worth over ₹50,000 will be awarded the titles ‘Book Maharaja’ and ‘Book Maharani’.
Purchase reward
Those who spend more than ₹10,000 on buying books will be felicitated with the ‘Book Raja’ and ‘Book Rani’ awards.
Children making purchases worth more than ₹2,000 will be awarded with a ‘Book Lover’ certificate.
Literary events like quiz, essay and elocution, music programmes, poetry, drawing and painting competitions will also be conducted on the occasion.
Besides a 10 per cent discount on all books, there will be special concessions for institutions purchasing books in bulk.
The book fair will be open from 12 p.m. to 8.45 p.m. on all days.
