A lecture with the University of Kashmir, Aadil started his literary pursuit with poetry. But soon, he shifted to literary criticism and got his work first published in 2011. Hailing from the Kashmir Valley, his biggest influence in literature is his teacher Majrooh Rashid, who is also regarded as scholar and a critic of Kashmiri literature. His works include Zol Dith Sardas (criticism) that fetched him the Kendra Sahitya Akademi Yuva Puraskar in 2016. Besides, he published the Teaching of Kashmiri for BEd course. He is working on a compilation of critical articles on the life and contribution of noted poet Ayaz Rasool Nazk.
