Internationally-acclaimed women’s rights activist and author Manasi Pradhan has been bestowed with the prestigious ‘Phenomenal She’ honour by the Alliance Francaise, the global cultural mission of France.
In her absence, Pradhan’s family members received the award at the Alliance Francaise India headquarters in New Delhi on the occasion of the International Women’s Day on March 8 in the presence of the French Cultural Mission Director, Ambassadors and High Commissioners of different countries.
The 46-year-old activist is the founder of the Honour for Women National Campaign, a nationwide movement that fights to end violence against women.
In 2016, the New York-based Bustle magazine named her among 20 most inspiring Feminists Authors and Activists along with Nobel Prize winners Shirin Ebadi, Rigoberta Menchu, Malala Yousafzai, Betty Friedan, Naomi Klein, Angela Davis, Kate Millett and Gloria Steinem. In 2017, the Los Angeles based Welker Media Inc. named her among 12 most powerful feminist change makers across the globe.
Pradhan was conferred with the prestigious Rani Lakhsmibai Stree Shakti Puraskar in 2014 by the President.
