The thirteenth edition of the Bangalore Literature Festival (BLF) will be held in the city on December 14-15. The festival showcases various aspects of literature and culture from across the country and the world, and this year will be no different.
“Two Nobel laureates are going to be here: Venki Ramakrishnan and Abhijit Banerjee. Kiran Desai, a Booker Prize winner, will also be here for the first time. There will be science and story, poetry and song, writers from everywhere… Singer Harpreet has a session called ‘Ranjha Ranjha’, Malayalam actor Parvathy Thiruvothu will talk about her craft, while Ila Arun and L Subramaniam will tell their stories,” festival director Shinie Antony said.
The ambassadors of Australia, Spain, and the Dominican Republic will also be present for the festival, while LGBT perspectives will be highlighted by the panel Queer Caravan. Fans of historical writing will also be glad to hear about the attendance of figures like Ramachandra Guha, William Dalrymple, Anita Anand, and Rana Safvi.
