The winner of the prestigious SahityaAkademiYuvaSahityaPuraskarin 2016 for his poetry collection ‘Sulus’, Anweshahails from Goa and prefers to call herself a worker of Konkani, rather than a writer. She had also bagged the YuvaChaitanyaPuraskar of Goa Konkani Academy in 2014. She started with journalism, but later moved to social work. Now as a creative entrepreneur, she finds time for her passion–reading and writing. Apart from organising book exhibitions for children in schools in Goa, she conducts special vacation camps for children—Majja—where the children are drawn into drawing, theatre, music and craft and derives her creative energy from the tiny-tots. Two books of poetry, ‘Sulus’ and ‘Padsad’, a children’s book ‘Daant’ and several translations of children’s books are to her credit.
