Bhopal : The theatre fest based on Urdu plays will be organised in the city. The Urdu Drama Festival will begin from Tuesday at Antarang Hall, Bharat Bhavan.
The theatre buffs of the city will witness different genres of the plays at the Urdu Drama Festival. It is to be noted that Urdu Drama Festival is being organized by Madhya Pradesh Urdu Academy, Culture Department. The fest that will begin from Tuesday will continue till Sunday.
While informing about the drama festival Nusrat Mehdi, secretary of Urdu Academy said that every year the drama festival is organized for the Bhopal theatre buffs to built an interest on Urdu plays.
The drama festival will begin on Tuesday with the play ‘Waqt Ke Karahte Rang’ directed by Rajiv Verma.
On December 20 i.e. Wednesday, Parchhaiyon ka Peecha will be staged in the direction of Irrfan Saurabh. On December 21 i.e. Thursday, the play ‘Jikr-e-Mir’ will be staged in the direction of Nizam Patel.
This year a seminar on ‘Urdu Plays Yesterday, Today and Tomorrow’ will also be held. Ram Gopal Bajaj and Nadira Babbar will be the chief guests on the occasion. Renowned playwrights of the city Rajiv Verma, Nazeer Qureshi and Ashok Bulani will speak on the topic.
It will be held on December 22 i.e. Friday.
On December 23 i.e. Saturday the play ‘Mere Baad’ will be staged. This play is directed by Tariq Ahmed.
On December 24 i.e. Sunday, the fest will conclude with the play ‘Hori’. The play is directed by Anumika Sagar.
