‘No dearth of talent in Telangana’
The ensuing World Telugu Conference should unfold the great literary creativity of Telangana and showcase the works of eminent Telangana writers, said Chief Minister K. Chandrasekhar Rao here on Monday.
Addressing a meeting of literary personalities on the arrangements for the World Telugu Conference at Pragati Bhavan, Mr. Rao said the conference should dwell on the uniqueness of Telangana language and all the genres of the region as well as the culture and art forms.
“There is a lot of literary activity that took place in Telangana and there is no dearth of talent in the region. But Telangana literary personalities did not get their due. The work that is taking place for the development of language should be known to the world and unpublished manuscripts should be published. The conference should highlight Telangana literary history and culture but not demean that of others,” he said.
The Chief Minister said that the occasion should be celebrated with pomp and gaiety and the city should be decked up to suit the festive occasion. The arrangements should be such that they should win laurels from Telugus coming from all over the world.
The conference should strive to create confidence among participants that the Telugu language has future, he said and added that the Government already made it mandatory to teach Telugu till Intermediate.
