Ruskin Bond and Uday Prakash inaugurate Tata Steel Jharkhand Literary Meet

Source : The Avenue Mail Ranchi, December 8: The second edition of the Tata Steel Jharkhand Literary Meet (JLM), the city’s premier literary festival featuring eminent personalities of national renown from the worlds of English and Hindi literature, with a smattering of films and music, opened at the hands of Ruskin Bond and Uday Prakash at Audrey House in Ranchi.     Bond, arguably the country’s most recognised contemporary author and darling of the masses, enthralled the packed amphitheatre with anecdotes and snippets from his illustrious career. Bond, arguably the country’s most recognised contemporary author and darling of the masses, enthralled the packed amphitheatre with anecdotes and snippets from his illustrious career. The first session of the day consisted of deliberations on the subject ‘Lokpriyata Ya Sahityik Sach: Lekhak Ka Asli Uddeshya Kya Hai’ during which noted Hindi author Uday Prakash shared his in conversation with Chief Editor, Prabhat Khabar Ashutosh Chaturvedi.   The next session revolved around the subject ‘Kya Social Media Hindi-Urdu Sahitya Ko Badhawa aur Pahunch de Rahi Hai’. The deliberations took place between young writers Hussain Haidry, Satya Vyas and Nilotpal Mrinal. The session brought about the importance of social media to increase reach amongst audiences with its power to provide new ways and means of experiencing content. Another afternoon session ‘Sahityik Patrika ka Bhavishya’ witnessed discussions between noted authors Alok Rai, Mahadev Toppo, Rakshanda Jalil. The session discussed challenges and new ideas for keeping a great legacy alive.   The day concluded with a lilting musical performance by eminent singer Rekha Bharadwaj. Eminent citizens from all walks of life including senior bureaucrats, students and literature lovers participated in the literary fest today. “Promoting culture and Art has been part of Tata Steel’s ethos for decades.
