Bhopal : The youngsters of the city recited their beautiful and different creations before the literary buffs of the city. Mehfil organized the first literary open mic of its second season after the overwhelming success of the musical open mic.
It is to be noted that Mehfil is an initiative by Ansh Happiness Society to bring all the performing arts together on one stage. The second season of Mehfil is receiving an overwhelming response by the citizens as the registrations for the literary open mic were closed in first three minutes.
The event was held on Thursday at The Headquarters. The event kick started with a performance by a class 7 student, Maryam Khan, who recited an English poem about the loss of humanity in today’s world. She also happens to have a blog ‘Writing is Amazing’.
After Maryam’s performance, a series of lyrical performances were held. Pragya Dubey held the audience in an awe while she narrated her original story called ‘Hareer’ based on hindu-muslim religious differences and the riots that happened during India-Pakistan Partition. Another participant Shivendra did a poem called ‘Khamosh Bezaar raatein hongi’, while Kartik Khare did two poems called ‘Tasveerein’ and ‘Bachpan.
Nikhil, who has a youtube channel where he uploads his performances did a poem called ‘Hindi aur Urdu’ which was specifically about his love for both these languages, apart from a few more like ‘Tum Bin’, ‘likhte likhte’ and ‘swatantrata’. Ankit Pandey’s poem ‘Aha Zindagi’ drew analogies between different elements of nature and the beauty of woman.
Wrapping up the event, Vandana narrated a prose piece called ‘Dabi Hui Cheekhein’ where she talked about depression and Disha did a poem called ‘Hands’ which talked about the way a person loses coordination of hands when suffering from Anxiety.
