The
Mishkenot Sha’ananimInternational Writers Festival will have Man Booker prize
winner Paul Beatty in attendance.
Beatty won the Man Booker Prize for his book
The Sellout, a novel about the reintroduction of slavery and segregation, in 2016. At the Jerusalem
lit fest Beatty will be seen in conversation with
Etgar Keret, an Israeli writer known for his short stories, graphic novels, and scriptwriting.
The
Jerusalem lit fest is an annual affair and this is it’s sixth year running. It started on May 7 and will last four days. Apart from Beatty, the lit fest will also has several known authors in attendance.
Ari Folman and
David Polonsky will be talking about their joint project, Anne Frank, The Graphic Novel.
Nathan Hill, write of The Nix will be speaking about adapting books for television.
Alona Kimhi and Zoya Cherkassky will discuss their Ukrainian childhoods and immigration to Israel.
Francesca Segal, Graeme Simsion will also be in attendance.
