Bhopal | Thursday, 23 August 2018 : A one of its kind newspaper, ‘Laghu Katha Times’ (Short Stories Times), was launched here on Wednesday at Dushyant Kumar Memorial Museum of Manuscript.
It is to be noted that it is the second edition of Laghu Katha Times. Besides, it is the first short story newspaper of the country. Among the various dignitaries present at the launch of the newspaper Mahesh Saxena, Vimal Kumar Sharma, Suures Kushwaha Tanmay, Mohan Tiwari Anand, Editor Kanta Rai and Ghanshyam Maithil Amrit were present.
To begin with the event the editor Kanta Rai welcomed the concept of short stories Times and Shortage Research Center and welcomed the proposed scheme in the coming time. Mahesh Saxena underlined the importance of short stories, while Vimal Sharma also recited his short story while proposing the need for short stories. Rajurakar Raj, while commenting on the short story, recounted his short story ‘Unfortunate misfortune’.
A short story is a piece of prose fiction that typically can be read in one sitting and focuses on a self-contained incident or series of linked incidents, with the intent of evoking a single effect or mood, however there are many exceptions to this. After the launch of the newspaper, the present story writers read short stories and shared about them with each other.
Megha Mathil, Pranjal Shrivastav, Neeta Saxena, Ashok Vyas, Jai Jai Ram Anand, Dayaram Verma, Gokul Soni, Girijesh Saxena, Ashok Kumar Damania, Kapil Shastri, Varsha Chaube, Suman Oberoi, Mridul Tyagi, Madhulika Saxena read thier chosen works. The programme was operated by Ghanshyam Maithil Amrit.
