Srinagar : Faheem Bhat, 18, whose love for reading and writing made him drop out of an engineering college, has come up with his self-published debut novel ‘Wandering for Love’.
Faheem, a resident of the volatile Downtown locality, was pursuing a diploma in an engineering college in Kashmir. He says he had a stereotypical dream of becoming a software engineer until he started reading.
“When I passed my Class X, I started reading books and my interest grew towards writing. I would write every day. I dropped out of college to pursue my interest,” he says.
‘Wandering for Love’ was released today at Parsa’s food outlet in Srinagar.
“The book is about Fenin, a reckless young man and the journey of his transformation from a carefree person to one who loses his faith in reality,” says Faheem.
He says a friend recommended him to read The Fault in Our Stars by John Green, which changed his perspective towards life.
“The impact of the book was so great that it made me read more and more. I have decided to devote my whole time to writing and reading,” adds the young writer.
