DEHRADUN : Writers and literature lovers from about 15 States will be attending the second Doon Literature Festival to be held here on December 22-24. More than 25 sessions will be held during the three-day literature festival, which the organisers have also attempted to make multi-dimensional this year.
The event coordinator Praveen Kumar Bhatt said the literature festival to be held at the Christian Retreat and Study Centre will have literary discussion, workshop on writing and cultural presentations by folk musicians and artistes. More than 500 literature lovers including writers from at least 15 states are expected to attend the three-day event. Ranu Bisht of Samaya Sakshaya which is organising the event, said that writers from West Bengal in the east to Jammu and Kashmir in the north, from Maharashtra in the west to Andhra Pradesh and Karnataka in the south are to attend the literature festival. In addition to literature, the event this year will also have discussions on India’s socio-cultural diversity, media, Kashmir, Gandhism, women writers, children’s literature and the problem of migration being faced in mountainous regions.
