Tuesday, 05 June 2018 |DHENKANAL | in Bhubaneswar : The Mahima Pustak Mela was inaugurated jointly by Steel and Mines and Works Minister Prafulla Kumar Mallick and Commerce and Transport Minister Dr Nrusingha Charan Sahu at the mini stadium here on Friday.
The book fair, organised by the District Council of Culture, would conclude on June 8.
Notably, the State Government has advised all district Collectors to organise book fairs at respective district headquarters.
While Mallick advised district Collector Nikhil Pawan Kalyan for organising the book fair, Sahu advised him to construct a big library hall so that common readers can sit and read books.
Among others, Local MLA Saroj Kumar Samal, Collector Nikhil Pawan Kalyan, municipality Chairman Sudhansu Dalei, Additional District Magistrate Abanikant Pattnaik and ZP President Meenati Nayak, Akhaya Kumar Mohanty and Yogendra Nath Tripathy were present.
It might be mentioned here that a book fair was earlier being organised by the Sandhya Tara Sahitya Sansad and District Book Fair Committee. It has not been held for the two years, reportedly due to non-cooperation of the District Council of Culture and the district administration.
