Abohar, July 18 : The Sahitya Akademi is working on an encyclopedia of Indian poetics. Prof Satnam Singh Jassal, member of the Akademi’s Punjabi advisory board, said the objective was to provide information on concepts, authors and texts in Indian poetics of both ancient languages such as Sanskrit, Pali, Prakrit and Tamil and modern languages.
Prof Jassal said the Akademi also planned to publish an anthology of writings on the 1857 war of Independence in all recognised languages of the Akademi and an anthology of writings on Mahatma Gandhi that was to be published in Hindi and English. — OC
