ARUSHI ORGANISES NATIONAL POETRY COMPETITION ON DISABILITY

Bhopal | Thursday, 26 April 2018 :  Arushi in association with Department of Social welfare, Government of Madhya Pradesh, organised a National Poetry Competition on disability.

An overwhelming 1400 entries from 14 countries were submitted. Submissions were made between March 3 and 16.

A panel of three experts shortlisted about a third of the submission based on predetermined norms.

The competition was completely transparent and the name of the poet was kept separate from their submissions.

These entries were  brought to renowned lyricist and poet Gulzar  by representatives from Arushi and Ashok Shah, Principal Secretary, Department of Social welfare, Government of Madhya Pradesh.

Gulzar Sahab read each entry and then chose the three best verses from the 10 best poetries.

It is to be noted that the winners will be felicitated by Gulzar Sahab in a programme to be held in Bhopal in the month of May.

Besides,  he will also present a few of his own creations on stage during the event.Notably, the winner will be awarded Rs 3000, the first Runner up will take home Rs 20000, second Runner up Rs. 15000.

The other seven poets from the list of 10 will be awarded Rs 5000 each.

For the International Poetry Competition Entries were invited in Hindi, Hindustani and Roman Hindi. Only submissions through the official link were accepted and the winners were chosen on the basis of expression, poetic style, effectiveness and creativity.

The winners of the competition include poets like Poonam Sood from Gaziabad. She won the first prize.

The second and third prizes are bagged by Arti Verma from Chandigarh and Rishikesh Murgunde from Pune respectively.

Other than these three winners, the seven winners include Neha Bhavsar from Bengaluru, Koshish, New Delhi, Hemanti Gosain, Dehradun, Rahul Gaur, Bhopal, Anil Jeenagar, Mumbai, Manoj Chhabra, Hisar and Mohit Kataria from Bengaluru.
